ArborShadow Accuracy

Altitude Analysis

For this test I picked 6 sites (see following table) with a different date and time setting for each (the correct time difference and daylight saving time was applied where necessary).

The ArborShadow calculation for the sun's altitude was then compared against 3 other on-line sun position calculation tools. See results below:

 

 

The actual difference between the ArborShadow value and each of the other calculation tools was then calculated and displayed as a graph (see below).

 

The difference for each sample is tiny (less than half of 1 degree).
