The ArborCAD AE download comprises of two files. They are labelled as 'Setup.exe' and as 'ArborCAD AE.MSI'. Both files are combined within a Zip file for easier download. If you are using an older version of Windows then you may need to download the ZIP utility program to 'unzip' the file.
The program requires the installation of the Microsoft .NET framework on your PC. The .NET framework is a collection of resource files which programs can use to carry out certain functions. You can find out whether the system is already installed by attempting to run the downloaded setup program. It will inform you whether or not you need to install .NET. Further information about the framework (including its system requirements) can be found on its download page.Hint: try running ArborCAD first to see if this is already installed. Vista & W7 users should not need to install this.
Important:
It is advisable that you DO NOT run the Setup file from within
WinZip. Instead extract each of the two files to a new folder on
your hard drive, then close WinZip, and run Setup from the new
folder. Once installed do not remove the folder with the original
Setup and .MSI file as these may be needed for Repair purposes. If
you choose run the Setup file directly from WinZip, ArborCAD-AE will
still install correctly but you will lose Shortcut connectivity (more).
